Gerard is Co-Owner of Tom McNamara and Partners and as Operations Director is responsible for leading our Construction Cost Management teams on a significant number of complex projects nationally and in a wide range of client sectors including residential, educational, leisure, commercial, industrial, heritage, and health. 

Gerard has an in-depth knowledge in all aspects of pre and post-contract quantity surveying, adding value through his expertise in value engineering, project appraisal, funder advice, procurement strategies, contractual and cost advice.



Gerard joined Tom McNamara and Partners in 2005. He holds an honours degree in Construction Economics and Management from Limerick Institute of Technology (TUS Limerick) and became a Chartered Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 2012. In 2023, Gerard was awarded fellowship of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in recognition of his experience and achievements within the profession.
